{"id":52,"date":"2013-05-05T05:22:00","date_gmt":"2013-05-05T05:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"\/blog\/post\/2013\/05\/05\/May-2013"},"modified":"2020-08-12T11:04:06","modified_gmt":"2020-08-12T19:04:06","slug":"may-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prodigalsounds.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/05\/may-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"May 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Since finishing up &#8220;<a href=\"\/blog\/post\/2013\/02\/18\/Future-Imperfect\">Future Imperfect<\/a>&#8221; in February, I&#8217;ve been going back over the other components in the &#8220;<span style=\"text-decoration: line-through;\">Strange But True<\/span>\u00a0Steel Tree&#8221; suite and tidying up a few loose ends in the Prologue, Interludes, and Finale sections.<\/p>\n<p>The song &#8220;Strange but True&#8221; became a problem, because I want to re-write the lyrics and re-title it &#8220;The Steel Tree&#8221;. In the process of doing that, I decided I needed to re-record the drums, guitar, and bass. Now it&#8217;s just waiting for me to finish up the lyrics and get the vocal re-recorded.<\/p>\n<p>I also decided &#8220;<a href=\"\/blog\/post\/2010\/07\/20\/Head-in-the-Game\">Head in the Game<\/a>&#8221; needed a third go-over, with some tweaks to the drums and a more aggressive bass. Then I went crazy and re-recorded all the guitars, using the <a href=\"\/blog\/post\/2005\/07\/19\/Ibanez-540s\">Ibanez 540s<\/a> instead of the <a href=\"\/blog\/post\/2010\/03\/19\/Fender-Telecaster\">telecaster<\/a>. It&#8217;s sounding better, I think.<\/p>\n<p>Now it&#8217;s time to return to the last remaining song on the album: Slaying The Dragon. I&#8217;m currently in the middle of re-recording the <a href=\"\/blog\/post\/2005\/07\/20\/Chapman-Stick\">Chapman Stick<\/a> and acoustic guitar.<\/p>\n<p>I really think I have a shot at finishing this project up this year.
