{"id":38,"date":"2017-12-14T10:53:08","date_gmt":"2017-12-14T10:53:08","guid":{"rendered":"\/blog\/post\/2017\/12\/14\/Re-releases-and-Resets"},"modified":"2020-08-31T15:02:22","modified_gmt":"2020-08-31T23:02:22","slug":"re-releases-and-resets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prodigalsounds.com\/blog\/2017\/12\/14\/re-releases-and-resets\/","title":{"rendered":"Re-releases and Resets"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Steel Tree 2.0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Okay, the biggest news is that I have created a 2.0 version of the <em>Fruit of the Steel Tree<\/em> album, as <a href=\"https:\/\/theprodigalsounds.bandcamp.com\/releases\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a digital release on BandCamp<\/a>. The songs are also available to stream on this site &#8211; I\u2019ve updated the Production Notes and you can <a href=\"\/steeltree\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">read about the changes there<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Album #2<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Album #2 is taking longer than expected, due to reasons that aren\u2019t worth discussing. I have one track 100% completed, and I\u2019m working on a couple of others that have been around for years but have never been finished. I have another long piece in demo form, 70% of it anyway. And finally, another large piece that is in the process of being written and I\u2019m feeling very challenged by it both compositionally and thematically and it\u2019s been hard to make progress on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/prodigalsounds.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-25.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-532\" width=\"246\" height=\"220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/prodigalsounds.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-25.png 1022w, https:\/\/prodigalsounds.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-25-300x269.png 300w, https:\/\/prodigalsounds.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-25-768x688.png 768w, https:\/\/prodigalsounds.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/image-25-676x606.png 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 246px) 100vw, 246px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Bottom line: I\u2019m not giving up. There\u2019s too much here that I value to throw in the bin. In order to get <em>Steel Tree<\/em> finished, I had to get serious and \u201creset\u201d my activity and treated it like a project, requiring management and discipline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I need another reset, to not despair of how long things are taking and instead satisfy myself with continual, gradual progress.
