I&#8217;ve been using Cakewalk Windows-based sequencers and audio recorders for 15 years. Upgraded with goodies and new features almost every year, never begrudged the upgrade tax. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cakewalk.com\/products\/SONAR\/\">SONAR 8<\/a> is pretty much perfect. Check out the <a href=\"http:\/\/forum.cakewalk.com\/tt.aspx?forumid=5\">user forum<\/a>, it&#8217;s an excellent resource.<\/p>\n<p>Update: SONAR still exists in 2019, but it has a new owner, and a new name: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bandlab.com\/products\/cakewalk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Cakewalk By Bandlab<\/a>. And it is FREE.
